# Temperate Mesh — Product & Pricing Catalog

**Document purpose:** Internal pricing reference for device sales, bundles, and margin math.  
**Last updated:** June 2026 (planning estimates)  
**Pricing philosophy:** ~20–30% markup on devices; higher markup on antennas, solar, cabling, mounts, and bundles. **Always include Alaska shipping to Ketchikan in cost.**

## How to read the tables

| **Gross margin** | Sell price − landed cost (before labor, overhead, returns) |

> **Important:** Freight is the biggest variable. Bulk orders amortize shipping; single-unit orders hurt margins. Consider a **minimum order** or **freight line item** on quotes for heavy items (solar nodes, poles, antennas).

## Alaska shipping assumptions (planning)

These are **estimates** for spreadsheet modeling—not quotes from carriers.

**Rule of thumb for quotes:** If landed cost is uncertain, quote **sell price + “shipping TBD”** or pad freight by $15 on first orders until you have real invoices.

Best for: visible message UI at home, boat, or job trailer; Wi-Fi MQTT gateway role.

**Bundle discount rule:** Setup is bundled at ~$75–99 instead of $125 standalone—still profitable because config is repeatable.

## Pricing policies (recommended)

1. **Published “from $X” prices** on website; exact quote after use-case conversation.
2. **Freight included** in advertised bundle prices for Ketchikan pickup/delivery; surcharge for other SE communities (Wrangell, Petersburg, Juneau) based on actual freight.
3. **No race to the bottom** on T1000-E—compete on setup + local support.
4. **Trade-in / referral:** $10 credit or free firmware refresh for referred customers who complete setup (optional promo).

## What we do not sell (refer out)

- Ham radio license training (we can link resources; ISM/Meshtastic ≠ ham unless customer chooses ham hardware)
- Commercial cellular boosters (different product category)
- Emergency services guarantees—we sell tools, not rescue contracts
